"Reach" of San Francisco Bay Area Law Schools

The below maps illustrate how many graduates of five San Francisco Bay Area law schools can be found working in majors cities I have chosen around the United States. Each of the circles is color-coded to indicate a particular school, and the diameter of the circle is equal, in pixels, to the number of grads in that city (based on data in a popular attorney database.) The database used is incomplete — i.e., not every working attorney is listed — so the numbers indicated in the graph should looked at in relative terms, not as absolutes.

Note that I have graphed data for numbers of grads in the database, rather than using any kind of ratio for number of job-holders versus school size or class size, so schools that graduate larger classes will naturally show larger numbers in this scenario. A huge circle does not necessarily mean that a school is better at placing its grads in jobs than a small circle (though in the case of Stanford, it probably does.) The color key across the middle of the page indicates how the class sizes of the schools compare as of 2005.

I was not able to graph data for UC Berkeley (Boalt Hall), due to the fact that UC Berkeley grads often describe their school as "University of California," and leave off "Berkeley" or "Boalt Hall" or any other indicator. It is therefore going to take an exhaustive search to eliminate all the other UC law schools from search results in order to acquire that data, which I have not had time to do at this point.
